On Sunday July 6th our beloved Chihuahua, Honey was attacked by the paws of a wiener dog in a battle over a potato chip. I guess the saying "Pick on someone your own size" doesn't work for the canine variety. Honey is 11 years old and family mascot to Wanda Whitworth, Brayden and Bryce Garcia and Julia Whitworth. The unseen fight erupted, but was then broke apart by Honey's mother. Honey walked away with her head held high but was dragging her rear legs. She was then rushed to the veterinary clinic and the consensus is that the problem lies within her discs and spine. There is thought of possible meningitis due to her white blood count and liver being high from blood work taken after a seizure she had on July 8th. Since there is no Veterinary surgeon available in Wichita, KS, Honey is currently being transported by Wanda and Honey's 3 siblings to the K-State Veterinary Clinic, where she will have an MRI and will most likely require surgery. Thus far we have spent $1500 in medical expenses and need an estimated $2500 more to cover surgery, testing and other medical expenses. Honey's mother was recently laid off, but is willing to do whatever it takes for her furry family member's well being. If for some reason we receive more donations than her required medical expenses, we promise to donate the remainder of donations to the K-State Veterinary Clinic to help other animals in need. We thank you for your time to read about and help us with this cause.
