The NWC is protecting $10 million worth of property (1,000 acres with 2 miles of Lake Superior shoreline) in the Keweenaw. Acquiring the property left the NWC with a debt and a mortgage. The NWC needs the equivalent of 500 people to chip in $10/month (or $120/year) to make the payments. Check out the stories and photos of the members who have donated, or visit northwoodsconservancy dot org for more information, photos, and maps. Suggested donation: $10/month (=33 cents/ day), but anything from a one-time $10 to $10,000 is greatly appreciated; it all adds up. In addition to memorable times in the woods or at the lake, NWC Natural Areas are available 24/7 in your mind as you picture eagle chicks, playful otters, sunsets, baby turtles, a wood warbler nest, a fox walking the shoreline, a glade of ladyslippers, or a stand of towering white pine, all living on lands you have helped to acquire. Priceless! Donate $400 and get a week at the Conglomerate Falls cabin; donate $1,000 and get a print of "In the Moment". Better yet, click on FUNDRAISE FOR THIS CAMPAIGN or JOIN THE TEAM, and whatever you raise on "your" page counts towards the prizes (for example, get 10 friends to donate $40 each, and you get a week at the cabin for "free").
