Save MNSC Green Space
Organized by: Justin Williams
Hello - I am part of a group of volunteers, friends and neighbors, who are members of community swim club. Our club is in serious danger of extinction, surely leading to the sale and development of this wonderful multi-acre green space. Our doors are closed this summer, the first time ever since the club opened in 1951. If we don't get our doors open for the 2016 summer, we'll be forced to sell the land due to insormountable expenses. The means that a developer will most likely turn our beautiful, peaceful green space into whatever will make him the most money. Marple Newtown Swim Club has been a community asset, providing fun, safe, and affordable summers for generations of families for 64 years. I myself am part of 4 generations of club membership. Our goal is to attract new young families, but keeping our prices affordable for the dozens of senior citizens who come to the club for their daily social activities. With your help, we can meet the budget necessary to operate the club in 2016. This will allow us to attract even more new members, putting us on a path for success into the future. Please join me in saving the MNSC green space from development. Thank you.
