BENEFITING: FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH
First Congregational Church in Tacoma Washington was built in 1907 and houses a church organization that began in 1873. The church is need of repair and the congregation is unable to support its needs. It is a facility that provides space for much needed secular and spiritual programs such as multiple step recovery groups, as well as serving as a host to interfaith dialogues to foster peaceful relationships between various faith communities. The church building also provides space for local community events and classes. We are at risk of losing the church to demolition if it is sold. We want to continue to provide the much need facilities to support groups like AA and the interfaith outreach program, but we need help from others interested in preserving our heritage and saving a beautiful building.
