Bangladesh, at 166 million people, is the eighth most populous country in the world. There are 13 to 15 million cancer patients in Bangladesh, with a rise to an estimated 21.4 million by the year 2030. According to the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics, cancer is the sixth leading cause of death in the country. In women, cancer cervix, uteri and breast cancer are most prevalent and more than half the populations of cancer victims are women.
Save Sabrina, an initiative to help a young woman who is fighting a battle with colon cancer in Bangladesh. Sabrina comes from a poor family in Bangladesh who can barely afford their month to month expenses, let alone pay for this unexpected medical expense. Cancer doesn’t come with an invitation, and it sure did not for Sabrina, who has a rare form of colon cancer. At age 29, Sabrina says she feel like a burden on her family who is already in enough financial distress as it is. “Fighting cancer is the biggest obstacle of my life, and it isn’t any easier when you have to add money into the question of living and dying,” says Sabrina.
The real question is:What can we do humanity? What can we do as a nation? What can we do as people?
For most of us we are of, or nearly the same age as this girl we have to ask ourselves a question: What is our life was intruded with cancer? How would we feel if we didn’t have hope to live because we didn’t have the money to afford treatments? Who would we turn to? Who would help us?
Most of are blessed with amazing families and jobs, and this wonderful life that we don’t even consider the chance of our lively hood being challenged.
Today I request you to help Save Sabrina, to show her hope for life again. By donating you are aiding in her treatment cost and medical supplies for her. All the money they we raise will use for Sabrina’s chemo therapy and medication and supplies.
