BENEFITING: U.S. Fund for UNICEF
A drought and famine in Somalia have affected more than 11 million people, including 2.2 million Somalis who live in an area controlled by the militant group, al-Shabab, where aid groups can't deliver food. To add to the problem, women are now being attacked and raped in overcrowded refugee camps. Therefore, in addition to the international organizations and governmental agencies working to relieve the famine in Somalia, I'm creating a project with the hopes of both raising awareness about the issue as well as raising money for the cause. Also, I'm planning on doing something silly (i.e. shaving my head) if I can raise $5,000 or more so feel free to give me some suggestions :)
Check out these pictures of the displaced families of Mogadishu
P.S. Just $100 will feed a family of 6 for an entire month.
