BENEFITING: 3-DAY FUNDRAISERS
Rev Dr Taylor T. Thompson, Pastor
The oldest African American church in Columbus , Ohio, St Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, was founded in 1823 where the congregation worshipped in a log cabin a short distance from the present church at 639 East Long Street, Columbus, Ohio. The current edifice was built in 1906 and currently listed on state historic site and received a marker from the Ohio Historical Society.
In 1999, we created a 501c3 non profit and built a Wellness Center in response to health wellness services needed in the surrounding neighborhood. Unfortunately, due to a fiscally challenging economy, we lost control of our finances and fell seriously behind our financial obligations resulting in foreclosure and a public auction scheduled May 28, 2014.
We are aware we are in a serious crisis and, are desperately reaching out to our new friends seeking help to save our church. So, if you have the heart, we need your help. Please send us what you can. Kindly visit the attached link and click on the “Tithes and Offerings” button to make financial donations. We pray that you chose to help save our beautiful church and the community services provided in the wellness center. http://www.stpaulamecols.org/Historic-St-Paul.html
