Save Subrata's ailing mother
Organized by: Barun Maity
This is a cry out to the people to help my long-time friend Subrata to save the life of his ailing mother who has been suffering from serious kidney and heart diseases for years.
Subrata and I are great friends since our undergraduate college in Kolkata aka the City of Joy in India. We're staying at the same on-campus residence and our rooms were next to each other. Our undergraduate school days were just as amazing as they could be. Our friendship lasted even after our college days, and we remained friends forever. Recently, I came to know that Subrata has been through very rough times financially, as he and his family spent almost all of their financial resources to treat his mother's ailing medical conditions. She has been suffering from arthritis for many years, but in order to treat her pain, doctors prescribed medicines and painkillers of heavy doses that now seem to have worst effects on her health. The situation has deteriorated to the extent that she is now dealing with about 50% kidney failure and serious heart conditions, and potentially fighting with a life-threatening situation in a hospital in eastern India. The money needed to treat her is beyond my friend's capacity to arrange as his family has already spent almost everything they had. As a last option, Subrata asked some of his closest friends like me to help him out.
One of the reasons for my personal motivation, other than my friednship with Subrata, is my father who also suffered from Kindney failures and had to go through long-term dialisis for years. As a result, I know how difficult it is for a patient and his/her family to deal with such partial organ failures and the financial crisis it eventually leads to. Therefore, I am pleading to the global community to help my friend so that his mother's life can be saved. It is not just about saving only her life, but also saving an entire family from being ruined. My goal here is to raise as much money as I can to help with the medical bills and treatment costs so that it is one less thing for Subrata and his family to worry about. Any donation at all will be greatly appreciated! So let's help Subrata and his family!
