Two years ago, after an annual mammogram, they found something in my films. A biopsy was needed. Luck was on my side as the biopsy came back clear. The moment I had the all clear, I knew I needed to do something to make a difference. I signed up for the Avon Walk intending to participate in it only once. As I was training, a family member was diagnosed with the disease. The walk became even more personal for me.
The walk itself was a life changing experience. Bum knee and all, I finished both days and knew I had to do it once more. Why do such a long distance again, especially with a bad knee you ask? I simply couldn't walk away.
