Protect Wildlife in the Halifax Conservation District
Organized by: Sue Kelly
Today, this moose and calf, this napping fawn, and countless other animals, call Halifax Vermont's conservation land their home. However, if two well-heeled out-of-state developers get their way, an industrial scale quarry will rob these beautiful animals of home and habitat.
Fighting back, the Halifax Conservation Group recently succeeded in blocking the quarry at the town level. It was costly, but we scraped together the funds to defend wildlife and the environment they rely on.
Now we must do the same in Vermont Environmental Court, as the developers are challenging the town’s denial of the permit they would need to construct the quarry. In this critical phase, we are reaching out for your support. We are an all-volunteer group, enabling us to channel 99.3% of all funds raised in our 3-year history directly to defending wildlife and the environment they depend on.
Help us protect the wildlife and the wild lands of Vermont. Please donate today!
