BENEFITING: Friends of Volunteers Initiative Nepal
FVIN is a collective of supporters based in the USA who advocate for programs and opportunities for women and girls in Nepal. We are fundraising to provide ongoing educational scholarships for 17 girls. They have been identified as in need of financial sponsorships in order to continue their education. They want to be pilots, doctors, nurses, singers, teachers and mothers and we are happy and honored to support them! (Find out more about them in their bio's below)
Community-based and locally developed NGO, Volunteers Initiative Nepal, is our local partner and we believe in their comprehensive and sustainable programs for rural communities in Nepal!
Please join us in championing the cause of these girls and their continuing education! For $230 a year, which is less than a latte a week, we can give these girls, their families and their communities a hand up!
100% of all donations go to VIN's child sponsorhsip programs (FVIN will cover all administrative costs, including wiring the money to Nepal, etc.)
Your contribution pays for:
- admission fees
- examination fees
- monthly tuition
- 2 school uniforms
- stationary and books
- Children's Club support
- support for community development activities
- administrative costs (for correspondence, follow-up, and monitoring of the sponsored child)
If you have a particular child who you are interested to support, please indicate which girl to FVIN via email, in your comments, or attached to your donation. We will make sure to earmark your contribution, and as a donor you will recieve 2-3 updates per year from the girl you sponsor with school report cards, new pictures, letters and drawings!
FVIN also wants to encourage and facilitate crosscultural experiences and learning opportunities! Please consider writing a letter or sending a small package to the child you wish to sponsor. We will be bringing these to Nepal this summer (JUNE 2014) FVIN is also happy to talk to you about volunteer opportunities in Nepal!
