The Barbara Saville Women's Shelter is in desparate need of funds to help sustain the excellent services provided to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Founded in 1983, the Barbara Saville Women’s Shelter is a nonprofit organization funded by Kings Community Action Organization (KCAO) that serves to help women and children in the Kings County area. The Saville Shelter is the only domestic violence and homeless shelter for women and children in Kings County.
The shelter is named for the late Barbara Saville, a KCAO employee who was an advocate for victims of domestic violence. The shelter provides a safe and secure living environment for women and children seeking refuge from domestic violence and/or who are homeless due to unforeseen circumstances and situations. Your donation of $25 to the Barbara Saville Women's Shelter Initiative can allow a woman in need to recieve 3 meals a day for 4 days and transportation to the courthouse. If that's what $25 can do, imagine the amazing things that can happen for the shelter when we reach our $60,000 goal!
