Join us in supporting New Jersey's Sea Turtles!
Six of the seven species of sea turtles are threatened or endangered at the hands of humans. Their populations are severely impacted by activities such as accidental capture, entanglement in fishing gear, coastal development, poaching, and ocean pollution. Furthermore, global warming has impacted currents and water temperatures, causing juvenile sea turtles to become disoriented and beach themselves on the sand.
Support Turtle Back Zoo's challenge to create and operate a rehabilitation facility that will specialize in addressing injuries, jump-starting juvenile turtles, and remedying cold-stunned animals. The facility will act as an exhibit within the Turtle Back Zoo, so all visitors can learn about sea turtles and our efforts to sustain their populations.
