Saving My Best Friend
Organized by: Chad Shaw
I would never consider asking for help in this type of situation unless I had bent over backwards and exhausted every possible resource of my own to save my best friend Rudy. Last year I found myself in the midst of financial devastation after being out of work for several months do to an intestinal torsion which required emergency surgery that involved sections of my small and large intestines being surgically removed. I found myself in a hole that I desperately tried to dig myself out of but was unable to as a result of lost work time and accumulating medical bills. My Old English Bull dog Rudy is my friend and means everything to me. Last week, Rudy began acting out of sorts and I noticed a bloody discharge coming from him rectum. He was showing signs of extreme discomfort. I rushed him to the vet and she diagnosed him with a rectal adenocarcinoma that she explained is critical and must be removed as soon as possible. This tumor is causing Rudy so much fear and pain and I am beyond heart broken and helpless to do any more to offer him comfort. I work 7 days a week in order to obtain every possible bit of income that I can, but unfortunately what I am able to earn does not keep pace with the rapidly growing vet bills. I'm out of resources and I'm running out of time. This fund raiser is my desperate, last ditch effort for me to my best friend. I humbly ask for your help with my most sincere, heart-felt gratitude. I've always believed in paying it forward. I help people in need whenever I am able to. If I'm able receive the help that I need from the generosity of caring hearts, when I'm able-- I vow to come back and help someone else who has fallen victim to tragic circumstances beyond their control. I will humbled and honored for any little bit of help that may be provided. Rudy and I offer our most sincere thanks and gratitude!!!!
