The vision for Family Engagement at the Eagle Academy for Young Men is to empower families to advocate on behalf of the academic, social and emotional success of their scholars and recognize their power. We expect 100% participation and full accountability. Every family is important, needed and valued!
We are seeking the help of our families and friends to make Eagle Academy Newark Family Engagement a huge success. We would like for our scholars to be able to participate in out of city experiences such as, college tours, studying abroad, and exposure to sporting programs such as lacrosse, golf, track and field, bowling, fencing and baseball. Please consider making a donation. No amount is too small. Every dollar will make a difference in the lives of our young scholars.
The Eagle Academy Foundation (EAF) was founded in 2005 to develop and support a network of all male grades 6 through 12, college prep schools in urban communities that educate and mentor young men into future leaders committed to excellence in character, scholastic achievement and community service. We accomplished this through opening and managing Eagle Academy public schools and implementing the Eagle Model-a research based, outcomes-oriented approach to educating inner city young men. There are now six existing Eagle Academies, currently located in South Bronx,, Ocean Hill/Brownsville, Brooklyn, Southeast Queens, Harlem and our newest edition in Staten Island. We also have a school located in Newark , New Jersey. EAF currently serves over 2000 young men of color and their families. Among our current students 76% are African American ; 22% are Hispanic/Latino; Asian and Caucasian are less than 2%. More than 80% of our students are eligible for free or reduced lunch . One in four students have special needs.
Thank you in advance for your support.
