BENEFITING: BORGEN PROJECT
Our Project aims to make global poverty a central concern for U.S. foreign policy. I am one of more than 200 volunteers working all over the country to inform people on how everyone can make a difference for people living on less than $1 per day. We can stop the 300,000 babies from dying the day that they are born and give 40 million pregnant women access to professional maternity care they currently lack. Currently, the number of people suffering from hunger is greater than the population of the United States, Canada, and the European Union combined. In the past 20 years, global poverty has been cut in half. We are seeing success rates but there is still more to go. Only 1% of the U.S. budget, .7% of our foreign aid budget, is allocated for global aid. Let's do more!
