BENEFITING: SAVING TINY HEARTS SOCIETY
EVENT DATE: Jul 17, 2016
On July 17th, 2016 Haley and her heart helpers including her sister, friends, and one of the founders of Saving Tiny Hearts, will be running the Rock n’ Roll Half marathon in Chicago. We are running in celebration of Haley’s 1 year of a healthy heart. On July 22, 2015 Haley underwent her 5th and hopefully final open heart surgery. Haley was born with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) known as Tetralogy of Fallot and forced to undergo multiple open heart surgeries, including 3 valve replacements throughout her childhood. Now, at 21 years old, she is stronger than ever and is ready to take on her first half marathon!
Our goal is to raise money to help prevent Haley and every other child with a congenital heart defect from ever going through another open heart surgery. Saving Tiny Hearts is a 100% volunteer based organization that funds specific research projects related to congenital heart conditions. It was founded by Brian and Francie Paul, two incredible parents that have a son with a CHD. With these donations we will be able to fund more projects that will lead us closer to completely eliminating open heart surgeries for these children.
