As some of you may know I have been recently selected as a StartingBloc Social Innovation Fellow for 2012. What is StartingBloc and why should I care? Glad you asked! StartingBloc is a non- profit organization that takes students and young professionals (aged 20-29) and provides them with the training, education, and networks necessary to turn any career into a socially responsible one. Fellows learn about corporate social responsibility, social entrepreneurship, cross sector partnerships and sustainability from leading academics, corporate innovators, social entrepreneurs, activists and government officials. The curriculum provides a fresh look at global issues and enables fellows to innovatively affect change at all levels. Now you're probably saying to yourself " Jay say no more, You had me at "StartingBloc is..", so how do I help?!?!" Well it's simple really you can do one of two things.
1.) Make a donation towards my goal of raising $2500 to cover my institute fees, airfare, and a bowl of New England clam chowder
2.) If you live in Boston, let's hangout! The institute is May 24-28 so let's plan something
Please please please consider making a donation, you don't know how much it would mean to me to know I have your vote of confidence that I have what it takes to help make our world a better place :)
Thank you so much for your support! I deeply appreciate it, and for those who I haven't seen in awhile please drop me a line letting me know what's new.

The StartingBloc Fellowship begins with the Institute for Social Innovation.
The Institute is a five-day transformative experience during which young leaders learn to increase their impact, exponentially. The Institute curriculum includes a survey of social innovation, an innovative case-study competition and sessions with industry leaders.
The 2012 Boston Institute will take place over Memorial Day weekend: May 24 - 28 at Babson College.
