Greetings, I wanted to share some Great News & ask for your Support!
As an Emerging New York Architect, I am dedicated to designing buildings that are socially relevant and environmentally sound. I am an advocate for sustainability, a firm believer in Social Economic Environmental Design and am passionate about encouraging community engagement through design practices. I am committed to exploring new sustainable technologies and how they can translate into future designs by furthering existing best practices. These interests converge in architecture and public policy where good design, both sustainable and socially conscious, can influence the development of cities.
Recently, I have gotten accepted into the StartingBloc Fellowship which begins with the Institute for Social Innovation. The 2012 New York Institute will take place over August 2 - 6 at the Design for Social Innovation Space at the School of Visual Arts in New York. The program costs $1000, and we have been given the opportunity to fundraise the tuition which is due June 15th, 2012. I am reaching out for your support!
The Institute is a five-day transformative experience during which young leaders learn to increase their impact, exponentially. The Institute curriculum includes a survey of social innovation, an innovative case-study competition and sessions with industry leaders.
This fellowship will give me an opportunity to explore how my design training can be expanded beyond the “Building”, and how I can transfer my skills to contribute to a socially, economically and environmentally healthy community. Traditionally the architect has been known as the Master Builder, but we are in a time in which a shift needs to be made for the Architect to be the Master Collaborator, and become relevant in the practice of Public Interest Design.
Thank you in advance for your Support!
