BENEFITING: SC WISLA CHICAGO
EVENT DATE: Jun 30, 2016
SC Wisla Chicago is the oldest Polish soccer club in the United States. We play in the National Soccer League and participate in various tournaments across the United States, where we try to spread the Polish culture. We are a very unique adult team because most of the players grew up playing with the club for many years. We really consider ourselves a large Wisla family, and we try to help each other in any way possible. Although our team is predominantly Polish, we have players from different parts of the world as well, such as Iraq, Mexico, and Czech Republic. We are really trying to show that soccer is a universal language that can connect people.
At some points in our lives, we have all dreamed of playing professional soccer. Although our dreams did not come true, this summer we received a unique opportunity to participate in a soccer tournament in Poland, where we would be able to compete against lower divisions Polish soccer clubs. This would be an unforgettable experience for all of us. It would enable us to get a sense of what it feel like to be a “professional” for a short period of time. As you can imagine, this trip requires an enormous amount of planning and financial support. Currently, Wisla exists due to the generosity of a few dedicated donors, but they do not have the resources to cover the full expenses of our trip.
We hope to raise $5000, which will go towards the hotel and travel expenses of several teammates. With your help we will be able to follow our dream and continue spreading our passion to others.
Thank you for your support!
