Scammers Never Win Cause
Organized by: Valentino Thompson
This fundraiser is for low income college basketball players based from a low income family house hold coming right out of college that have been scammed by people around the world that fake to be an agent. Fake Agents - ask for a certain amount of money to purchase your work visa in another country and your plane ticket. They sell you on the fact that you have to complete those two steps before they can send over contract and how important it is to get this done within 24 hours. I am a victim of the scam myself, coming right out of college exactly a month after I received my Bahelors Degree in Criminal Justice. A independent agent by the name of "Allen Willimas Jr" called me and after a week of calling me at all times of the night selling me that I had a contract if I completed the steps of sending this perticular agent the money to grant me access to play in another country. After, sending this agent 5,500$ through a 2 week span period due to him telling me that he had to change my flight and other lies obviously because two months later I was still home and I just gave a random guy 5,500$ basically. Coming from a low in come family it is hard to lose any amount of money to scammers and can really mess your credit up in the long run. There are many more players that have come to me with stories very similar and even worse then mine not deserving any of this after, many years of hard work and dedication to any sport not just basketball. Graduating college with a bachelors is a major step in life and to lose over 2,000$ is a big lose after a big accomplishment. I'm reaching out to those who are willing to help give back to players and help them still achieve the dream of playing professional basketball. Finally, this money will go to 2 low income players that have been scammed by "Fake Agents". This cause will also pay for them to go to upcoming basketball combined/camps to be seen and maybe get there money back by getting picked up by a real team and real agent. Granted this works out well and players actually benefit from it we will continue to reach out and try to decrease the amount of players getting scammed a year after receiving college degree.
