EVENT DATE: Nov 12, 2016
Each year, the American Red Cross responds to more than 400 local disasters in the Eastern New York Region, and the vast majority of these are home fires. In addition to caring for local fire victims when they have nowhere else to turn, the Red Cross is committed to promoting fire safety and helping to reduce the number of fire-related deaths and injuries that occur each year.
On November 12, in partnership with local first responders, community groups and corporate supporters, the Red Cross is holding a special Home Fire Campaign event in the City of Schenectady. During this one-day event, volunteers will come together in an effort to prepare at least 500 Schenectady-area households with lifesaving fire prevention and preparedness education. They will also be installing FREE smoke alarms all day long for local families in need.
Join the effort to save lives by supporting the Red Cross Home Fire Campaign. To volunteer with us in Schenectady on November 12, please visit redcross.org/eny/homefires.
