BENEFITING: Cancer for College
Let me give you my spiel and if you read to the end, I might send you something cool. Failure to read this all the way through could result in ninjas storming your home and doing unspeakable things to your priceless collection of Henry Winkler memorabilia. Your choice.
Since 1993, my good friend Craig Pollard, who is a two-time cancer survivor, and Cancer for College have helped over 1,000 cancer survivors realize their dreams of a college education by granting over $1.75 million in scholarships.
Craig is a fraternity brother of mine. At the age of 15, he learned that he had developed Hodgkins Disease. He is hands down the strongest person I know. He didn't let cancer run his life and continued to live a normal life and even excelled in school. He survived cancer twice by the time he was 19.
What most people don't realize is that families dealing with cancer use every last resource to fight the disease in the effort to keep their child alive. Craig experienced this first hand. Life savings and retirement plans are drained by medications, operations and experimental procedures often not covered by insurance. How do you plan for the future of a child who might not make it through year’s end? College dreams are forgotten in favor of just trying to keep your child alive.
This is why Cancer for College was started. To help cancer survivors and their families be able to afford the opportunity to go to college.
The stories of the cancer survivors are so inspiring. They want to be doctors, nurses, scientists and more. They want to change the world. What they are able to accomplish while dealing with so much makes me feel like a total slacker. Join me in my effort to not be slacker and help these awesome survivors realize their dream of a college education.
Every dollar really helps and I'm not above bribery. Send a $19 donation and I'll lube you up with a bottle of my luxurious Will Ferrell Sunscreen. It was voted one of the top three celebrity endorsed sunscreens of 2012 by the Celebrity Sunscreen Gazette. Sorry, but we can't send the sunscreen out of the United States and Canada. We don't want the feds on our tail.
Make a donation today and you too can experience the celebrity flavored, sun repelling goodness for yourself.
Yours in awesomeness,
