From my time in the Peace Corps, I know many children in Guatemalan villages who are unable to be educated beyond elementary school because their parents can't afford to pay the cost of tuition, supplies, and transportation. For $200-$500 per child, kids can continue their education and have more opportunities for a decent future. My project focuses mostly on educating girls due to the research that shows girls who receive education generally have less children and live longer. However, with the help of friends and family, we have already seen some boys through to graduation; now, instead of working in agriculture as their parents did, they are working in computer and accounting jobs making a much better living. 100% of money donated goes directly to education costs for a child. The reward is ours, in the grateful smile of a person who was given an opportunity to change their future.
