Help Get School Supplies to Children
Organized by: Pharos Philanthropy
On vacation, I took part in a 4X4 excursion with some other vacationers. During the ride we occasionally pass through the local towns where we were greeted by small children, as our 4X4s slowed down or stopped. I took the opportunity to give money to some of the children. During one of these stops, I happened to look behind me and noticed another rider giving the children small zipped-locked bags. Curious about what she was handing out. At the end of the excursion, I approached the other rider and asked her about it. She told me she was giving out pencils, paper, small reading books. She explain that sometimes there is no free formal school systems in most developing countries. And if there is a school system, it lacks basic school supplies. Paper, pencils, reading books even desk are desperately needed for children who want to learn. Her charity inspired me to also help and I hope it will inspire you also to help these children. Please donate any amount you can to be used to purchase the items listed below to help children learn. All monetary donations include shipping to various charities and agencies in the developing country for distribution.
- Backpacks and other book bags
- Colored pencils, crayons and markers
- Rulers with English and metric measurements
- Pencil boxes / cases
- Glue sticks
- Pens and pencils
- Pencil sharpeners (individual and classroom)
- Pocket dictionaries
- Reams or boxes of paper
- Uniforms and a pair of shoes
Thank you for helping children with any amount you can contribute. It doesn't cost a lot to give a child a pencil but it can make a world of difference to a child.
