BENEFITING: SOUTH CAROLINA LIONS FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Jan 17, 2015
My name is Paul Hinson and I am a Lion. I joined my Lions Club in 1996 and I currently serve on the South Carolina Lions Foundation Board of Directors. On January 17, 2015, I will attempt to run my third marathon in Charleston, SC.
I will be running in the 5th Annual Charleston Marathon to raise money for the SC Lions Foundation and its Dr. Franklin Mason Fellowship Program. Dr. Mason is a Past International Director of Lions International and a dentist in Mullins, SC. He began running at the age of 58 and now, at age 88, has run over 120 marathons, 50,000 miles and raised over $105,000 for Lions Clubs charities!!
Last year, you helped me raise over $4,300! That was great but short of our goal of $5,240 or $200 per mile. I’m counting on your support to carry me to the finish line in January and to break our goal this year!
The South Carolina Lions Foundation was formed in 1974 to support the work of the South Carolina Lions Charitable Services (SCLCS), an organization with a commitment to improving the lives of the citizens of South Carolina by providing vision and hearing health care including basic health screenings, eye surgeries, hearing devices, and optical supplies for the underserved who would otherwise not receive assistance.
Thanks for your support!
