What does this mean? Well, enjoy this video!
Learn about the life event that inspired Angel Ambassador Joe to make this a reality:
October 5, 2014
That was the date that my eyes were opened to the works of Ainsley’s Angels. It was a crowded morning at the Sugarman Triathlon transition area in Youngsville La. Everyone noticed the trailers and all of the pink colors moving around but no one really knew what was going on. As I headed back towards transition on my bike I noticed a bike chariot. In it was a little girl with the biggest smile, cheering on every athlete that passed by. I finished the race with the picture of that little girl in my head remembering how happy she looked to be part of such an event. Everyone was gathered at the finish line, telling stories and sharing their experiences of the day. All of a sudden the crowd seemed to silence as an elderly gentlemen in a race chair approached the finish line. He leaned back and told who I now know as Angels that he wanted to cross that line on his own. The crowd lit up as this gentleman stood up and did everything he could to take those final few steps across the finish. I knew in that moment that I wanted to be a part of spreading that joy. That feeling of being part of a team. As fate would have it just months later as I was preparing for my first race as an Angel the opportunity to start a South Central Louisiana chapter presented itself. So here I am! Humbled that God has surrounded me with the right people to spread Ainsley’s mission and bringing inclusive road racing to South Central Louisiana!
“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.”
