Ally Godin is a 17 year old girl in grade twelve from Ontario, Canada who recently experienced a tragic accident during a Midget AA ice hockey game on January 19, 2014. She is an talented goaltender for the Hamilton Hawks, and after losing consciousness and immediately being rushed to the hospital, Ally was told that she had broken her neck and shocked her spinal cord at once. This left her scared and paralyzed from the neck down. After a few days, she started to regain strength in her arms and hands, but still nothing below the waist. The doctors told her they were unsure about why or how it was happening at this point and all they can do right now is make her comfortable with her newly thrust upon lifestyle, and hope for things to change in the upcoming future. Ally hopes that one day she will regain that feeling below her waist, but in the mean time she must adapt to this change by needing a new wheelchair, leg braces, chair lifts in her car and house, home care, orthotics, hospital bills, and the list goes on and on. As you might have guessed, this new equipment she needs costs a lot of money. With her dad being out from work injured after a very serious car accident, and her mom having to take care of him, Ally's two siblings, bills, and now Ally herself, the Godin family is tight for money right now. Close friends are trying their best to help out, and any extra help at all would be so greatly appreciated. Ally's school, Bishop Tonnos Catholic Secondary School, as well as other Hamilton schools on both the Catholic and Public school boards are hosting fundraisers and hockey game buyouts to help raise money. Any financial help that will help this family out, and make Ally's road to recovery more comfortable and speedy would be extremely appreciated. Anything helps. Thank you so much for looking at her page, and for your donation if you decide to do so. It will be going to a great cause, making this family's lives a bit easier after being struck with terrible and unfortunate accident. It really could have happened to anyone.
