BENEFITING: CYSTIC FIBROSIS FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Apr 30, 2015
Hello friends and family,
I have pledged to run 1,000 miles over the next 12 months to build awareness, raise money and inspire! I'm asking for your donations of $.25, $.50 or %1 for each mile I run over the next year. My goal is to raise $50,000 that will all go towards drug research and development through the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
As you most likely know, I have CF and was diagnosed with the disease as an infant. At the time, doctors didn't believe I would make it to adulthood but due to the unbelievable progress, made possible only by drug research and development, I am now 31 and fighting to live a normal life. The disease is a progressive disease, which means that it causes on-going lung infections and eventually death, which is why sponsoring my campaign is so important. Fundraising has been critical in the development of new breakthrough drugs that have helped extend the lives of 30,000 American's living with Cystic Fibrosis.
Since being diagnosed with CF, the life expectancy has risen from 18 to 37, but new drugs in the development pipeline show promise to extend life dramatically. With your help, we can continue making progress on finding a cure for the disease and extend the life of so many across the country.
