My son was diagnosed with leukemia at the tender age of 7 months and was treated by Children's of Atlanta (Egleston campus). CURE was there for us (both in their medical research and with their emotional support) through the two years my son went through treatment (which included a bone marrow transplant at the age of 12 months). He was the youngest child in the US at the time to undergo full body radiation to prepare for the transplant. Because of the efforts of CURE, and of course through the grace of God, our son is now 19 years-old, and although confined to a wheelchair because of treatments, he lives a full, healthy, and happy life. He is currently in his first year of college. Running was for me, during those trying years, an escape, a time for me to reflect and re-engergize so that I might find the strength to be the best mom I could be for him. I have recently (after a 10 year hiatus) begun to run again. I am up to 4 miles a day and am making it my goal to run a marathon next year. Thank you for doing this for CURE and for the thousands of children who are positively affected because of their research efforts. My son is living proof that their work can work miracles!

Hello,

I would like to share my blog: http://charitynotacharitycase.blogspot.com/

It is a cool way for charities to earn off of sponsorships. It is in the beginning stages, so anyway you can help spread the word about it is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Paul Ruth

CROWDRISING SINCE: May 23, 2011
Stuff About Me:

It all started back on a fall day in 2007 when I decided that I wanted to run the New York City marathon the following year.   I trained and ran it.  The following year I wanted to do it again and I completed the Chicago Marathon.

After thousands of miles and 50+ races of all distance, I am back at it again this year with a plan to not only run the NYC marathon, but also raise as much as possible along the way for CURE Childhood Cancer.  Through my blog, www.irunnerblog.com and a sponsorship from Brooks Running I have started Team iRunnerBlog.

CURE Childhod Cance is dedicated to discovering cures for childhood cancer through cutting edge research and providing education and support to patients and their families.

Donating is quick, easy and secure- just click on the "Donate" button at the top right.

I hope you will support me, the Team and CURE with a donation of any level.  Thank you for your consideration.
