The MCCF Road Rally is a competition for teams to learn more about several nonprofit organizations that the McHenry County Community Foundation supports through a series of fun challenges all while raising money and awareness. All proceeds benefit the McHenry County nonprofit community through the work of the McHenry County Community Foundation.
The Road Rally is NOT a race, but rather based on a points system. Forty teams comprised of up to 4 people will accumulate points by: 1) visiting nonprofit challenge sites, 2) completing a pre-selected mental or physical challenge at that location, and 3) collecting bonus points.
Teams will collect bonus points by:
- Fundraising – 5 points for every $100 raised above and beyond the team entry fee.
- Social Activities – 5 points each for uploading a team photo to the Foundation Facebook page, recruiting another team to participate, or wearing a team uniform/costume on the event day.
- Bonus Challenges – 5 points for each bonus challenge completed during the event.
The winner of the Road Rally is the team that accumulates the most points overall. And there will also be winners in the Fundraising and Social Activities categories.
All of the funds raised by this event will become part of The Foundation’s Permanent Endowment to benefit the nonprofit organizations of McHenry County through our annual grants cycle. In fact, our 2014 grants cycle awarded nearly $550,000 to more than 70 organizations across the county.
