BENEFITING: EYE TO EYE
Friends, it is a great honor that I was chosen to serve on the Alumni Board of an organization near and dear to me, Eye to Eye.
Eye to Eye is unlocking greatness in the one in five people who learn differently and it is the only national organization run by and for people with learning “disabilities” such as dyslexia and ADHD. It's a mission I care about and has me fired up to kick off 2017 in a special and meaningful way: May 20-22, I will be biking from Boston to NYC (Eye to Eye's headquarters) and in the process helping raise funds for the upcoming year.
Eye to Eye leverages one-on-one mentoring (which I was a part of during college), inspiring speaking tours and events to champion large-scale culture change in every stage of the life of a young person with an LD. Its focus is to strengthen essential social-emotional skills, which include self-esteem, self-advocacy, and community building.
The Eye to Eye college mentors have 80,000 hours of volunteer service ahead of them, and I hope this ride (4 states, 3 days, 250 miles) and my goal of raising $1,000 gives them a boost of resources and inspiration for the year ahead. I have already raised $250 through the Superbowl squares fundraiser and just have $750 more to go before May 20th.
Please help me in my goal. To donate, visit www.EyetoEyenational.org/donate. If you do choose to donate, please list my name in the "In Honor Of" field so that I can make sure to recognize your support. Together, with your generosity, we are able to unlock greatness, unlock potential, and unlock the future of tomorrow. I wish you a very happy and healthy new year from me and the entire Eye to Eye community!
