High Tech High’s (HTH) mission is to develop and support innovative public schools where all students develop the academic, workplace, and citizenship skills for postsecondary success. High Tech Elementary (HTe), the newest of the HTH community of schools, is a project based learning (PBL) school, which opened in August 2015 fully enrolled. HTe’s Outdoor Leadership exploratory program is a unique opportunity for students to connect with the power of the outdoors explore other aspects of the world that they would not typically receive in a general education setting.
This Spring, as a part of our Outdoor Leadership Program, we plan to facilitate a project surrounding the importance of preserving and recreating in our National Parks through studying their history and natural environments. We hope to expose 4th grade students to the history of National Parks, their environments, and culminate in a overnight rock climbing experience in Joshua Tree National Park. Your donation will help cover the cost of campsite fees, meals, and project materials for our 4th grade students.
