THANK YOU for supporting Tea…
THANK YOU for supporting Team Ouimet’s 2015 Boston Marathon fundraising efforts! We are so proud of our 4 runners who have already collectively raised over $32,000 for Ouimet Scholarships!

Tomorrow, Amy, Matt, Scott and Chris will run 26.2 miles for The Fund (see bib/tracking info below). They have been busy training AND fundraising throughout the snowiest winter on record and today they’re close to reaching the Team fundraising goal of $40,000. We are asking for your help in crossing the fundraising finish line through possible matching gifts.

Please visit the link below to verify if your employer (and/or your spouse’s employer) offers this benefit. If you have already submitted a matching gift, thank you!

Q. What is an employer Matching Gift?
A. Many companies set aside funds each year to match contributions their employees make to qualified non-profit organizations. Most often, the companies match contributions dollar for dollar, and some programs may match at higher ratios!

Q. What do I need to do to get my gift matched?
A. The employee must initiate the matching gift process. You can do this by contacting your HR department to obtain the proper paperwork or website link and submit basic information such as charity name, gift amount and gift date.

Q. How can I verify to my company that GFC can receive charitable contributions?
A. The Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our EIN number is 04-2234126.

Stuff About Me:

Why I'm running the 2015 Boston Marathon: During the past fall, with my 50th birthday looming (in late April), I began searching for a personal challenge.  Patriots Day has long been one of my favorite days here in the Boston area, and with the marathon being a huge part of it, it just seemed to make sense to try and tackle it.

Why I'm running for Team Francis Ouimet:  Sadly, also in the fall, my father-in-law (Robert Mitchell) passed away.  In his day, he was a heck of a golfer but his love affair with the game started long before that, as a very young caddy.  As was his way, Bob was always keen to befriend and support the club staff where he was a member.  I run this marathon in his memory, and I know he'd appreciate that the Francis Ouimet Fund is the beneficiary of this effort.
