Scott's Road to Sobriety
Organized by: Keely Petersen
My husband and I have been married for 4 years, but during the last year and a half drug addiction has ravaged our love. Scott fell into the wrong crowd, making the wrong decisions. He has stolen, lied, and lost hope due to the vicious cycle of opiate addiction. After many prayers and tears Scott wants to seek treatment. We have found a free, year long rehab located 6 hours north of our home. We do not have insurance and live off of my minimum wage job. To find a rehab that we can afford is a miracle in itself! However, we are having trouble saving my pennies to make it up there. Scott has had his blood work and intake interview completed. The only thing standing in his way, to the intensive addiction treatment he needs, is the 6 hour trip. We are not asking for much....I am not asking for much. Just enough to get him to the rehab and get me home safely. Nothing more! Nothing less. Please donate if you feel the need. Most addicts do not seek treatment due to the financial burden, even those who desperately want it. I beg you, if you have been my position - watching the man you love wither away and become a stranger, please help. If you have been in Scott's situation and have made it to the other side, please donate. If this story touches your heart at all-please donate. This is the first glimmer of hope we have seen in a long time - please help us - please help Scott begin his journey to sobriety.
