BENEFITING: LAZAREX CANCER FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Apr 24, 2016
In late 2014, I was diagnosed with a composite form of two kinds of aggressive Lymphoma. Although the cancer had progressed to Stage 3, it was discovered before it was too late. Following the diagnosis, my treatment included three rounds of different kinds of chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant and radiation. I'm thankful and grateful to have survived the experience, an experience that has taught me so many important lessons.
My brother Tom and I have always loved the Big Sur Marathon and this year will be my comeback year, running the race with a fresh start in life and new vigor. Raising money for the Lazarez Cancer Foundation is one of the many things I'd like to do to give back and to pay it forward. Hardly a day seems to go by anymore without learning of someone who's life has been touched by cancer.
Although I went through a substantial amount of treatment, thankfully I did not require clinical trials or experimental treatment methods. The Lazarex Cancer Foundation helps those who have advanced stage diseases and are need of financial support during the clinical trial process. Help me help those who need the kind of assistance the Lazarex Foundation provides.
