SD Bilateral Relations Outreach Model UN Conference
Organized by: Yasmine Sadoudi
In a world where young students tend to be heavily influenced by the beliefs of those surrounding them, it is through experiential learning that these young individuals are able to broaden their horizons and gain the knowledge they need to develop a set of beliefs and convictions of their own, as well as the leadership experience and abilities necessary to act upon these beliefs. My name is Yasmine Sadoudi, and I am the Secretary-General of the San Diego Bilateral Relations Outreach Model united Nations Conference, a 2-day event aiming to inspire young students to take on the role of United Nations delegates pertaining to specific countries and implement their policies in a gathering where they make speeches, draft resolutions, form alliances, make peace, and work together towards overall situational improvement. While these situations may be hypothetical, the knowledge these delegates acquire in researching the demographics, history, culture, society, implementing the policies, and engaging in the relations of their respective nations are very real and help to shape the next generation of politicians, world leaders, critical thinkers, problem-solvers, and decision-makers whose diplomatic skills will ultimately benefit their community, their nation, and their world. In order to host this event at the appropriate facility (the Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice at the University of San Diego), we have to raise funds to book the venue for two days nearing the end of March 2017(Costing abot $2000). Your donations would help inspire these students to become politically aware, motivated, and gifted individuals whose dedication to the overall improvement of our world gained throughout the course of this conference will carry through their entire adult lives.
