I (Glenn Bolin, Karen Ward, Kay Greever, and Bill Reed, all teachers at Soddy Daisy High School in Chattanooga Tn) along with 45 high school juniors and seniors are traveling to Perl Harbor this Dec 7th (Pearl Harbor Day) to attend the memorial service for the remaining survivors of the attack. We will be video taping the service/decication of the newly renovated facilities. We"ll also be sitting down with as many of the remaining survivors in attendance as possible to record their personal stories. These men are all over the age of 87 and quite frankly won't be a round a whole lot longer. It's our mission to save their stories... and out American history. We will be working all week on the project, and then return to TN to edit the video and turn it into DVD sets. We will return the following year to present the video back to the National Parks Service and the Memorial Foundation. there will be NO money made from the video! It will become public domain... simply to insure the history of what happened to these men is never forgotten. The other teachers and I will also write lesson plans around the video we collect in order to have meaningful pearl harbor lessons for anyone school or group who would like to use it.... it will be available on the web, free for anyone.
