BENEFITING: The Carolinas Healthcare Foundation, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Apr 10, 2016
Jason and I are cycling with several Wounded Warriors from Camp Pendleton, CA to Camp Lejeune, NC to raise awareness and money for Adaptive Sports. (We are joining the team in Baton Rouge for the last 1210 miles) We are pedaling to honor our own Lt. Zachary Cavitt, USN, Ret. Zac is Jason's "favorite" brother-in-law and his hero. I'm honored to call him my son-in-law. We are riding to honor Zac and his service to our country and the many thousands of men and women in uniform who make and have made sacrifices on our behalf every day - some at the expense of their own function. Jason and I know the value of Adaptive Sports: hand cycles, mono-skis, specialized wheelchairs for basketball and rugby, the list goes on. But this equipment is expensive. And connecting newly disabled persons to their previous active lifestyles takes skilled and dedicated professionals too. We know them first hand, call them our friends and appreciate the expertise they have and the love they share. So whether you chose to say "Semper Fidelis; Semper Paratus; Honor, Courage, Commitment; Service Before Self "or simply "THANK YOU." Here's a great way to express your gratitude to our men and women in uniform: Donate to our efforts and know that 100% of your donation will go to the Carolina's Rehabilitation ASAP Program and Marine Corps Coordinating Council of Greater Charlotte-both 501 (c) 3 charities where the money goes to the people who need it. Follow our ride on FB beginning on 4/10 through 4/25. Thank you and Ride on.
