BENEFITING: SEALNet, Inc.
The number of children who live in garbage dumps among the outskirts of Phnom Penh is indeed alarming for both the government and the Cambodian community. On top of living in impoverished conditions, the majority of these children does not have access to education. They are forced to pick garbage or engage in other dangerous activities in order to earn money for supporting their families. SEALNet 2015 Project aims to cooperate with a local organization for the purpose of advocating education to the disadvantaged children in slum areas through a two-week curriculum. We plan to achieve this by organizing numerous academic and extracurricular lesson plans that will allow the children to explore subjects that are not integrated in the Cambodian education curriculum, and enhance their interests on subjects that already are. In summary, our goal is simple: to make the children fall in love with school and education. The money raised will be used to: (1) afford facilities and supplies for educational activities for underprivileged children; (2) form a feasible budget to sustain the project and achieve long-term goals
