BENEFITING: Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Sep 19, 2015
My mom had breast cancer. Once I had heard about it, I was upset right away and worried. It made me scared and angry. So many things went through my head. "Will she get better? Will it get worse? I just want her to get better!" So then my dad told me about head shaving to raise money to fight cancer. I wanted to help find a cure for my mom and all the other people who had cancer. Throughout 4th and 5th grade, I would get made fun of some times for my long hair, but I wouldn't listen. I was doing it for a good cause. My mom got treatment at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, and she said that the doctors and nurses there are the best and all the people there were really nice to her. They cared a lot and always tried to help her any way they could think of. Thanks to God and Dana Farber my mom is better now! And so the charity I chose is Dana Farber Cancer Institute. All the money you donate will go to Dana Farber so they can help people with cancer and try to find a cure.
