Sean's way to work, school, and a better future.
Organized by: Sean Salasevicius
EVENT DATE Dec 25, 2015
Two weeks before the Christmas of 2011 my home caught fire. My girlfriend and I lost everything, insurance covered none of it and the red cross gave us about 400$. She was a nurse and I was an electrician. A friend from work came up with an idea I went along with that was about to make my life much worse. Against the protests of my girlfriend and my better judgement, I started growing marijuana. June of 2012 I was arrested and sentenced to 5 years in federal prison for 100 plants. Now i have lost even more than the fire took, my job, girl, four years of my life, along with all the material possessions. I take full responsibility for the choices I have made. I am starting over and have applied for financial aid and enrolled into college for computer science, I also just started a computer repair business, am employed at a daycare for pets taking care of animals, and met a wonderful new girlfriend (Hi Kim). Starting over at 34 without parents or safety net to fall back on has been difficult to say the least, but I am determined to do everything the right way. At the moment I am riding a pedal bike to and from work about ten miles each way which takes me about an hour. The computer business has been slow starting up, school is beginning, and I am in desperate need of a vehicle before the winter gets here. A car would allow me a way to get to work, school, and a better future.
