BENEFITING: PEDALS FOR AFRICA
EVENT DATE: Nov 17, 2013
On November 17th I will be running the Las Vegas Rock N Roll Marathon.
My cause is to support football(soccer) in Sierra Leone, a place where youths have very few opportunities in life. Football and sports in general can provide many things to youths and young adults. A sense of pride, and community, self-confidence, direction and structure are just some of the many benefits that can befit a member of a football club. Most importantly perhaps is.....football is fun. Seaside Strikers F.C. is based in a small fishing village, River Number 2 Beach, just south of Freetown in Sierra Leone. The club is working with Pedals for Africa, a registered non-profit organization, dedicated to providing resources to people of developing countries in Africa. We currently have uniforms for a junior team (U-21), but are looking for funds to outfit a youth team (U-17) with uniforms, shoes, balls etc... Donations can be made through CrowdRise, or through Pedals for Africa
A donation of any size – big or small-- would be appreciated. Thank you!
