BENEFITING: SECOND CHANCE ANIMAL RESCUE
2015 has been a big year for Second Chance Animal Rescue. As a small non-profit rescue run by a handful of dedicated volunteers we are proud of the work we have accomplished. This year we have adopted out over 80 dogs into safe, loving, and permanent homes, we have helped owners pay for spay/neuter and medical treatments that they could not afford and have helped owner retention by offering free food, and helping pay pet deposits when moving. We have paired with several new shelters and rescues in an effort to reduce euthanasia and we look forward to growing a stronger community in and around the Las Vegas area. We also opened our fist official adoption center, where our dogs come on the weekend and families can come interact with them one on one in our adoption rooms. We have had some of our biggest cases of neglect, including Tina (please see pictures), who was saved off of the streets of Tijuana by an amazing group of individuals when she was skin and bones, and now lives happily with her family in Las Vegas. The cleft palate puppies, Myles and Lyla who lived with a backyard breeder, they came severely underweight, filled with worms and needing corrective surgery . We took in little Olive, who was abandoned on the streets, paralyzed, and only a few months old. Unfortunately this year we have also suffered a great loss, with the death of Scarecrow, our puppy who contracted Distemper and fought for 51 long days before his little body could not take it any more. Each of our dogs stories is special, each come with their own personality, their own mark they leave on our heart. We love what we do, and we wouldn't change it for the world. But we need help. Our vet works diligently with us to save lives. They reduce costs whenever they can, and allow us to make payments, but we have hit an all time high on our veterinary bill and we need your help to continue saving lives. Our current open balance at Town Center Animal Hospital is $11,057.59. In order to continue saving lives we need to get that balance down, and POSSIBLY even to $0! (That would be a dream come true). If you can donate even a few dollars, we would appreciate it, and it would help us to continue saving lives. Want to make a direct donation to our account? Call Town Center Animal Hospital at 702-262-1300 and let them know you are donating to the Second Chance Rescue account. Want to mail in a donation?
