I am a Disaster Mental Health Volunteer for the American Red Cross. We volunteer our skills and time (and in many cases, our vacation time off) to American citizens who are suffering from disasters. None of us are immune from a sudden disaster- loss of a home to a catastrophic fire, hurricane, wildfire, or ice storm. We are locally on call around the clock- we respond to calls, and then go to work the next day. It is who we are, and serving is a part of our very souls. I pledge to run 5 miles per day for 10 days in a row before April 11, and the money I raise will all go straight to the American Red Cross.
