Seed Money For Veterans Center of North Texas (VCONT)
Organized by: Veterans Center of North Texas, Inc. (VCONT)
The Veterans Center of North Texas (VCONT) will fill a critical gap for the 168,000+ veterans living in North Texas by connecting them to veterans’ and other service organizations that can best satisfy their needs. Too often we hear a veteran say, “I need help but don’t know where to go”. The VCONT will solve this problem by serving as a “One Stop” service and resource center for veterans and their families. The Center will assess a veteran’s specific needs, identify the service agencies that can best satisfy their needs, and help the veteran complete the paperwork required to obtain the agencies' services. Using its comprehensive network of service organizations, the Center will be able to provide referral services and assistance to veterans and their families in the areas of health, education, employment, housing, transportation, finance, legal, and VA benefits and services.
Transitioning from military to civilian life can be overwhelming. There are many resources available to aid in the transition, but veterans are often not aware of how to access them. The Veterans Center of North Texas will bridge this gap and help the veteran to get the help they need to successfully transition to civilian life. Helping veterans and their families to transition to civilian life will not only help the men and women who have sacrificed for this country, it will strengthen our community and help North Texas grow!
