Stuff About Me:

I am a humanitarian aid worker who specializes in Pediatrics. I have volunteered in Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Nepal, Gaza, the West Bank, Pakistan, Lebanon, Egypt, and Sudan. In Bosnia, I worked with the International Commission for Missing Persons (ICMP,) in helping identify remains recovered from mass graves and have reported on the lingering effects of the Bosnian War, including unprosecuted crimes against humanity.

I am also a writer whose work has appeared in The New York Times, The Guardian, The Huffington Post, BBC News, and several other media outlets. I have been selected as a 2015 Fulbright Scholar to Istanbul, Turkey, as well as a 2015 Truman National Security Fellow. In addition, I was selected for the Voices of Our Nations' Arts Writer's Workshop, led by Junot Diaz, last year and again, this year.
