BENEFITING: LEAVE NO VETERAN BEHIND
EVENT DATE: Nov 20, 2013
Last year, in January 2012, running half a block was honestly exhausting and burdensome. Had you met me last year in January, I was a happy and confident person - but I sat at 344lbs.
After 8 months, I dropped to 164lbs. I lost 180lbs in 8 months via a healthy diet I set out for myself consisting of a strict gym regiment and healthy eating.
I currently sit at 148lbs (dropping a total of 196lbs), and I am ready to tackle a marathon! I am officially registered and will be running my-first-ever-and-never-ever-expected Bank of America Chicago Marathon on October 13, 2013 – my first marathon!
I will be running for and with an outstanding non-profit organization, Leave No Veteran Behind (LNVB), which provides educational and employment services to Veterans (Heroes) who face economic hardship. LNVB invests in heroes who have honorably served our nation and seek to continue their service as productive citizens in their communities.
I will be running my first marathon less than a year after starting to run, and less than a year after running my first race (a 5K race). Help me reach my goal of raising funds for this phenomenal non-profit organization with hopes of benefiting as many of our Heroes as possible. I thank you and appreciate your support!
