Send me to Boston AND support Girls on the Run
Organized by: Monika Hunt
my goal: to complete the Boston to Big Sur challenge 2 races, 6 days apart, East Coast to West Coast my achievement: I qualified for Boston and I got accepted to Big Sur as well! I paid all the race fees so far! my obstacle: $$… I am short on cash… my story: I am a girl on the run! I’m a fairly new runner - March 15th, 2012 is the day I committed to running, which means it’s been super fun 4 years! In less than 4 years I ran 9 marathons and as of right now I got 2 BQ’s. In 2014 I ran 4 marathons in 4 weeks before turning 40 and I raised some $$ for No Kid Hungry. Boston will be my 10th marathon (Big Sur 11th) and this year it’s a 120th Boston Marathon, so round numbers all around! ;-) and a celebration for me of my 4 years of running!! I stand behind women going after their goals! Power to the SHE! I really identify with the message to empower women… on the personal level… Last 6 months have been a major change for me… I am finding myself all over again… going through a divorce… my entire life is changing! but I am embracing all the changes and stand strong as an individual! I want to come from this as a strong woman and I want to do something great for a great cause in the process! As of right now I am one month away from the Boston marathon and I have no travel arrangements made… no fights, no hotels… my plead: I am asking for donations to cover my travel cost to both races and to support the Girls on the Run! I am going to split the money in half! Half helps me travel and the other half goes to the great cause! If for any reason, I don’t raise enough $$ to travel, all money raised goes to Girls on the Run! I REALLY don’t like to give up on my dreams and goals, so that’s why I am doing absolutely everything in my power to make this happen! Giving up is not an option for me! This really means A LOT to me, especially now, when everything in my life is falling apart and I’m working hard on putting all the pieces back together… I will truly and forever appreciate all of your help!! So what do you say? Want to support me and a beautiful cause? I promise to run hard and well!
