BENEFITING: UNION CITY MUSIC PROJECT
EVENT DATE: Jun 29, 2015
Send a kid to summer camp – UCMP’s orchestral music day camp, that is!
What’s UCMP? It’s the Union City Music Project, whose After School Program brings free musical instruments and incredibly cheap ($.49 an hour!) music lessons to low-income kids from Hudson County, NJ’s urban communities.
Ten months a year, UCMP ensures that these at-risk children have a safe, creative, and constructive place to go to after school. But when the school year ends, where can they go?
That’s why UCMP will hold a three-week Summer Music Day Camp (June 29th to July 16th, 2015), Monday through Thursday mornings at Union City’s Park Theatre PAC (560 32nd Street) for an estimated 65 at-risk Hudson County kids.
UCMP’s Summer Music Day Camp will offer these low-income 1st to 7th graders professionally-taught, bilingual classes in voice, strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion, along with rehearsals in our Children's Orchestra and Chorus, and art and movement to keep them engaged, active, and inspired this summer.
Because UCMP only charges parents a ridiculously low $25/week fee for our Summer Day Camp, we need $5,000 to help cover program expenses, like our teaching artists, art supplies, space rental, snacks, and portable AC units.
Here’s how you can help! Your tax-deductible gift - by June 29th - can pay for these summer camp expenses:
$25 = One Day of Healthy Snacks for 16 kids
$50 = One Week of Summer Day Camp Tuition for one child
$100 = One Day of Healthy Snacks for 65 kids
$150 = One Week of Space Rental at Park Theatre PAC
$250 = One Portable AC Unit for Classrooms
$300 = Three Weeks of Summer Day Camp for two kids
$350 = One Week of One Teaching Artist's Fees
$550 = Three Weeks of Art Supplies for 65 kids
$1,000 = Three Weeks of Summer Day Camp for 7 kids
Help send a city kid to UCMP’s Summer Day Camp! We have 1 week left to raise $5,000!
